Mr.Owl Dies at Age of 72

Mr. Owl (most commonly known for his role in Tootsie Pop commercials and..... thats about it) died today at the age of 72. 

Mr. Owl, whose real name is Shabash Owlsomus III, started his career as an entertainer at the age of 30. His first job was on the first Tootsie Pop commercial that aired back in 1970 where a naked boy walked around the forest talking to animals about a sucker. Owlsomus was orginally casted as the second animal that the boy approached in the forest. However, an incident that happened off set led to him recieving the role which he has become famous for today.

"It was the first day of shooting for the commercial and we had just begun filming," Mr. Cow tells us. "Adam, who played the kid, approached me with the sucker in his hand and started his line, 'Mr. Cow, how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?' As I started to say my line, the scene gets interupted by a loud *crunch* noise off set. Apparently Owlsomus was nervous about his part and decided to calm his nerves by chomping down on a few tootsie pops. I almost milked myself in laughter.The rest of the cast and crew thought it was hilarious as well and decided they had to use it in the commercial. And just like that Owlsomus was cast as Mr. Owl who would, at the end of the commercial, devour the kid's sucker."

Mr. Fox was thereafter cast as the second animal questioned by the boy. Mr turtle was switched with Shabash for the fourth animal and moved to the third . The creative team behind the commercial also decided to make Adam naked for reasons they deemed too creative for the rest of the cast and crew to understand. Much of the cast found it difficult to work with a nude Adam, but not Owlsomus. He figured the rest of the cast was nude, so what was the big deal?

However it wasnt all licking and lollipop crunching for Mr Owl. On the second day of shooting  they realized Owlsomus could not prononuce the number two. This put production to a dead stop.

Mr. Turtle explains what happened. " Every time Shabash would say the number two he would hoot so it came out sounding like 'Two-HOO'.  It was funny at first, but then when Shabash started crying and spinning his head around in a circle it became histarical. So they added his speech impediement into the final product. He was mad, but then again no one respected him or cared what he felt because he was a no good role stealing hooter."

"It can't get any better than this!"

Mr. Owl after his meteroic rise with the Tootsie Pop commercial went on to become the mascot for Hooters. Figuring he could never top that job or in his own words "it cant get any better than this!"  he decided to retire at the age of 45.

Mr. Owl is survived by two childern, Hootalina and Hooterific, and many grandchildren, cousins and siblings. He was found dead in Popeyes Chicken from a heart attack after arguing with the cashier about the lack of hot scantily clad women in their establishment.
