Mythbusters Myth Busted

Friday May 4th, 2012
The somehow popular Discovery Channel , Mythbusters, may have it's own myth busted. A recent completely unnecessary poll was conducted. 20,000 people who identified themselves as "avid TV watchers" participated...

The results of the poll where that 95% of the individuals had never heard of the top rated Discovery Channel series Mythbusters. This suggests that Adam and Jaime are not as popular as the Discovery Channel would like us all to think.

We spoke with Jack Johnson, age 97, of Nashville, Tennessee, an individual who took part in the poll and said he hadn't heard of the Mythbusters, and asked him a few questions:

Us - Jack, have you seriously never heard of the Mythbusters?

Jack Johnson - The who?

Us - The Mythbusters.

Jack Johson - Are you saying "filibuster"?

Us - (very slow and deliberate speech) Theeeeee Myyyyytttth Buuuuusters!

Jack - Oh! Oh! I thought you was saying filibuster. I'm not into politics.

Us - So have you heard of the Mythbusters?

Jack - The what now?

Us - (with pistol to our heads) *Bang*

Jack - Did you hear something? Sounded like a 'splosion or somethin',

We also conducted an interview with Jessica McStereotype, age 19, who took part in the poll:

Us - Jessica. Have you seriously not heard of the Mythbusters.

Jessica - Oh you mean the weird facial hair guy on TV and that ginger guy? They're funny!

Us - So you have heard of them?

Jessica - Yeah well, I'm kinda busy between cheerleading and watching the Kardashians. So...

Since we were't getting anywhere interviewing these people we asked everyone around the office. Most people said that they do not like the Mythbusters but only because of the "weird facial hair guy who wears that hat". They frequently added "Does he ever wear anything else? I mean seriously, what does his closet look like? It's probably filled with one outfit,  some robots, some toasters and a microwave."

From these responses, we were able to determine that people do not like to watch the show. The Discovery Channel has still not caught on. We also were able to determine that people would rather watch wealthy, snobby, stupid people argue with each other rather than watching something intelligent and entertaining.
We were not, however, able to determine why we wrote this article, or why we care.
